Extensions?

Question

Has anyone ever had tape-in extensions? I’m looking into getting some, I’ve been trying to grow my hair out for about 9 months now, and it’s just now kinda reaching my shoulders.. I’ve tried clip ins and they don’t work for me. If you’ve had them could you state any advice? Pros and cons? Thank you in advance!

I'm a certified hair stylist and I have my certification in extensions tape in and Itip. tape ins are AMAZING they are low maintenance and take half of the time to put in as itip. depending on where you get your hair your hair should last you at least a year if not 2 years. you have to get them moved up about every 6-8weeks. but they are easy to wear and style. the only issue that some people have is if you wear your hair up in a pony can kind of feel weird beacse the base is a solid base so it doesn't move as freely as the itip. but seriously they are great.

The average lifespan of tape-in hair extensions is around 3-6 months before having to get them retapped. This assumes that you are using the high quality hair and tape.  You can’t wash your hair or excessively sweat for 24-48 hours after application as the bond needs time to cure and adhere properly to the hair.
The use of any silicone or oil based products directly on the adhesive may cause the panels to slip. Makes sure you are going to someone who is actually certified in tape extensions bc they can be placed incorrectly. Also Tape in extensions can get pretty expensive a salon here in Florida offers tape in extensions for $500 that’s for the hair and application along with cut/style if needed but if you can not find an extension in your hair color and the extensions need to be matched to your hair you’re looking at a price tag of $700 or more.
