Is cd- 23 too late to start trying?

My husband and I were going to wait until next cycle to start officially trying but we let "it" happen today but I'm already on cd-23 of a 35 day cycle. It probably won't happen this time, right? I have sore boobs already which usually means I've already ovulated 😞

It depends how long your Luteal Phase lasts, which is usually between 10-14 days long and is fairly consistent. So for example, mine is 14 days, but I usually have a slightly longer cycle of 30-32 days, so I would normally ovulate around day 16-18. That's why it's called the two week wait! 
So, to answer your question, if you already ovulated it is probably too late because you'll be in this phase and your egg would be gone by now.
