nose piercing HELP!!

this summer i got my nose pierced. shortly after i got a small, red bump on it which i figured was a hypertrophic scar. it went away about a month later on its own but i’m starting to get another one and since i have school i cannot wait a month for it to go away, last time it got as big as the diamond in the stud and red and very noticeable. what do i need to do to get it to go down ?? what should i definitely avoid putting on my face ?? i think it could possibly be my face lotion irritating the piercing or maybe i messed with it too much and didn’t notice??
