Sitting in my hospital bed now hooked up to my IV waiting for the OR nurse to come get me for my egg retrieval. This is our first

cycle. We’ve been trying for our first for 2.5 years. 5 failed IUI cycles. We unfortunately got some bad news on Monday. We were hoping to do a fresh transfer on day 5 or 6 but I’m at risk for ovarian hyper stimulation as my progesterone levels have been rising too soon. It’s been a difficult journey but as everyone always says “it will all be worth it!” We are going to cryopreserve our embryos and do a transfer in January. Trying to give my body some time to bounce back and try to give myself a break over the holidays. Hoping the new year will bring us lots of good luck!

Update: I’m happy to say they were able to retrieve 25 eggs. They will call me tomorrow with an update about fertilization of them. 🤗

Update: 11/30/17 All 25 of my eggs were mature and only 4 fertilized naturally so the embryologist and doctor decided to do ICSI with 12 of my eggs. Here’s to hoping we have good news in 5 days!! 🤞🏼

Update: 12/1/17 We have 4 two celled embryos progressing well and then we have 9 rescue embryos at one cell still. They’re slightly behind but the doc says they’re doing well.

Update: 12/5/17 We currently have 1 blastocyst frozen and I’ll hear back tomorrow about our 12 others! Here’s to hoping they all made it to that stage! 😍

Update: 12/7/17 so they emailed me yesterday and said they’re still watching my embryos and that we will for sure have a final freeze count today or tomorrow. Hope I get good news! I’m also sitting here in another hospital bed hooked up to my IV fluids waiting to get taken back for an upper endoscopy. I have to have a biopsy done to verify whether or not I have celiac disease. This can be linked to infertility so I’m hoping I get all of this straightened out! Just one more step in the process to getting prego. Of course I had to pee in a cup here and they told me my test was negative 😑 of course I already knew but ya know. I also have my new schedule for my transfer prep! Start my birth control again on the 9th! Ready to get this show on the road!

Update: 12/11/17 Finally found out how many frozen embryos made it to the blastocyst stage. We have 2 embryos frozen now. Waiting on our genetic results still. Started my birth control for this cycle to prep for my transfer. Hoping all goes well!! 🤞🏼
