I just got a new job yay! I just found out I’m pregnant so I don’t want to tell my manger till I’m showing but we have our work Christmas party coming up and it’s at a karaoke bar. I have no idea what to do, it’s a really small bar so it’s going to probably be obvious that I’m not drinking. Anyone have any advice? I don’t know what to do.. I was thinking about saying I have something on the next morning, so I don’t want to drink but I don’t feel like that’s the best excuse and we will probably have drinks bought for us and shots, so I don’t know if I should try to pretend I’m drinking or not. My manager and assistant manger both have kids so I was thinking about telling them but I’m really worried they won’t give me any hours as I’m casual. It’s a job that will probably turn into a permanent position after the new year.. but what if they don’t want me to work because I’ll have to take time off. Aghh what do I do?
