Is it too late 😕?

So my son is 2 days old and has only been formula fed... i change my mind about breastfeeding i want to at least give it a try, but is it too late to try now since he's already being formula fed? And if it's not too late how do I start trying to breastfeed someone please help !!

No, it’s not too late. Get help from a lactation consultant so they can help you with the latch. In the mean time you can watch YouTube vids, specifically about the flipple technique to work on it at home. Your milk usually comes in around day 3-5 so you’re good. It’s not too late. My milk didn’t come in until about 5 days after birth and because my son was severely jaundiced, he was formula fed for about 4 days. I’m exclusively breastfeeding now and we both love it. 
I would start pumping both breasts for 15 minutes every 2-2.5 hours to stimulate your breasts even if nothing comes out. Your nipples will hurt and you will want to stop, but push through. Buy some nipple cream and gel pads and just be diligent about proper nipple care after each pump. 
Visit a lactation consultant to help you properly latch your baby and to determine if your baby has a tongue/lip tie. Since your milk probably hasn’t come in yet, they might suggest using a SNS (supplemental nursing system) until you are producing enough milk to prevent your baby from becoming dehydrated. 
Eat well, drink lots of water, and try to rest. Breastfeeding and pumping is tough but it’s worth it in my opinion. There are days I want to quit because my nipples are cracked and sore, but it eventually heals in a day or two.

You can start drinking lots of water and liquids. You can also buy lactating tea or cookies they definitely helped me. Try pumping and putting warm wash cloths on your boobs.

They say most women’s milk doesn’t come in until 4-5 days mine didn’t come in until 8 days later. If you have a pump try to massage your breasts and with a warm wash cloth and then pump or put ur baby on and eventually it should stimulate u to have a let down. I had to do all that and pump and take motherslove supplements to help get enough milk, but exclusively breastfed my lo for 11 months even with supplement formula in the beginning bc if jaundice. It takes time and work to get the hang of it and latch so don’t give up if that’s what U want.
