Prefolds and inserts?

Question

FTM due in Jan and I’m hoping to use cloth diapers as soon as we leave the hospital. I plan on using an AI2 system, so I purchased a few covers and 24 inserts. Should I also look into purchasing prefolds for my newborn stash? I’ve read great reviews on GMD and osocozy from Amazon. I live overseas and shipping takes 2+ weeks, so I don’t want to need them after baby is born and be stuck waiting, but I also don’t want to waste money. Any advice is appreciated!!

We had pockets with single gussets and my daughter leaked from every single one.
We now use FST and covers, and then 1 bamboo inserts for naps and two for over nights wrapped up in the FST. 
We use blueberry and thirsties covers and LOVE them!!

I love osocozy. They are great as inserts too. I used prefolds and covers for my son at first but found pocket diapers so much easier and less time consuming.

I prefer flats over prefolds. I find they contain the EBF poop better and are easier to get clean.

That’s what we plan to do. We did an AIO rental last time and was really unsatisfied with the absorbency. We already have our regular stash and didn’t want to spend a lot on newborn diapers.
