CIO????

Question

We’re doing a modified CIO method with our 7 month old and tonight is the first night in her crib. She’s slept in our bed with us for 7 months and we think it’s time for her to be in her own space because we all aren’t  getting good sleep. How long did it take for your babies to catch on? This is SO hard. I feel like a shit mom.

I started with a nap first. He cried of course and I would go in every few minutes and rub his belly. Took about an hour but in the end he dozed off and woke up with a big smile. That night I was dreading doing it all again but to my surprise we laid him down and he was out cold. We probably lucked out overall with our experience. He would occasionally cry after that initial day but it would be 10-15 minutes. Again we would go in rub his belly and say night night. We all slept better and he like clock work sleeps 6pm-6am. Until I decided to let him CIO I use to hold him until he was in a deep sleep then lay him down. As much as I loved it I knew it couldn't go on forever.

I feel you I waited 2 1/2 years to put my son in his own bed, I tried many times when he was younger it was just hard and I would cave in and let him sleep in my bed again.
Just be consistent and don’t cave in it will be hard and they say it takes about 2 weeks to brake the habit maybe less depends on your child
