Baby Rowen💙 birth story ❤️
My November 18th baby decided to stay in and needed a little help on November 27 to make his appearance.
Birth story: went for an induction i Sunday November 26th at 5pm, they inserted a bulb fooley around 8, they said when it comes out I should be three cm dilated. It finally came out around 1 am and I was 5cm 🙌🏼 the next morning at 6am or so my doctor comes in and checks me, im still at a 5, and he decides to break my water( weirdest feeling ever) around 7 I started feeling contractions and asked for an epidural (I have a very low pain tolerance) got the epidural about 30 minutes later, it did not hurt at all. Around 9 am my contractions started to slow down, so they started pitocin. Around 12 ish I started feeling contractions again, and thought the epidural had worn off or something (FTM, so I didn’t know what everything did or what to expect) so my nurse came in and checked me and said I was 9cm, she said if the contractions get stronger call her back in, she left and called the doctor. Well about 10 minutes later I called her back and was in complete tears, like I had never got the epidural, she checked again and told me it was time to push. As they were setting up the room it finally felt real. Around 1:15 I started pushing, I pushed with the nurse for about 30 minutes. (The original plan was to try to push but my doctor was for sure I would need a c section) in those 30 minutes baby’s heart rate dropped and I wasn’t getting enough oxygen. So finally the doctor came in and the first thing he said was, I have to do an episiotomy (didn’t feel it then, but omg it hurts now) after he cut me and stuff, i pushed two more times and my precious blessing was out.
Rowen Jeremiah Dabney 11/27/17 weighing 7pounds4ounces 19.5 inches long.
We were released the next day and have been doing so great.
I’m 19 years old and yes it’s harder than I would have ever imagined, but this journey will be the most beautiful blessing I will ever experience. I wouldn’t trade this life for anything💙
