Can somebody help me out, is this contractions or?

Im 38 weeks and ive been experiencing cramp like pains in my upper stomach and only my upper stomach will get hard. Is this contractions? sometimes the bottom of my stomach will ache and have cramp like pains too when its happening. It's been going on for about 30 minutes. Also my baby will move after the cramp like pain goes away and my stomach gets softer & it will hurt. Anybody know what it is?? -The aching pain has been happening all day but about 30 minutes ago it got worse.
