Who uses cloth diapers?

FTM here, will be able to stay home so I want to try cloth diapers.  I will still use some regular diapers when the baby is young at night and in a few other situations, but oh my gosh there are so many to choose from!  Opinions please! :)

I use Thirsties duo wraps (covers) and a mix of flats, prefolds and fitted diapers. I try to stay away from microfiber and use diapers that are easy to clean. Flats and prefold are relatively cheap. Find a local BST group on FB and just start watching. I could have bought my entire stash used locally if I had been patient. And if you're going to do cloth diapers you might as well do cloth wipes too. We started cloth on day 4, when she was pretty much done with meconium. only used about 3 disposables since then and now she's 11 weeks old.

We use mostly bumgenius pockets. There are times I get tired of stuffing them but normally I just watch a show and get it done. Eventually I had to switch away from the microfiber inserts because my LO outgrew the absorbency. So we stuff with other inserts. What I like most about pockets is the ability to customize the absorbency. I recommended getting as many preloved as possible. Saves a lot of money.

I started with a variety of brands and types and settled on all in ones, I stay away from microfiber so went with all cotton and also wanted a USA made product.  Ended up with Blueberry Simplex and LOVE them, I dry them on medium in the dryer and have never had any issues with it damaging the PUL.  At night time (19 month old) we use workhorses and covers.  Smart bottoms is another USA made brand that uses cotton, they just don’t seem to work as well for us.
