Preggy hair dye?

Question

Safest hair dye for 2nd trimester mama? Really really need a change but want to be safe... thinking blonde tips or colored streaks. Can be temporary. Thanks!

I recommend to my pregnant clients who are concerned about coloring their hair to either keep the color off their scalp or to use a semi permanent color which is ammonia free.
Blonde tips are a great option because the color should touch your skin therefore you wouldn’t have exposure. The smell of the products may bother you but that’s about it!

I dye my hair with Henna and I love it. However I would research about it first because it isn’t for everyone. I’ve read that once you dye your hair with henna it’s really hard to change the color and that you pretty much have to grow it out. I also read if you dye your hair with henna and you do go to a salon you should let them know you’ve dyed your hair with henna cause if not they can really damage your hair. I love having red hair so henna works out perfect for me and I don’t really plan on dying my hair another color or anything and the henna stays in my hair way longer then getting my hair dyed from a box or salon. I’d say the negatives are that you can’t really dye your hair with anything else unless you grow it out and the smell. When you go to dye your hair with henna the smell is very “earthy” lol like I describe it as a wet leaves in a horse stall kinda smell lmfao and that smell isn’t for everyone 🤣😂. It doesn’t smell like that forever mind you it usually will go away after a week or 2 but still lol xD. To show you how long it last it comes in a 3 pack and I last bought it in Dec 2017 and I still have one box left lol.

This was my hair before henna to me I just felt like it was really dull in color and it wouldn’t take very long at all for my roots to start showing up.. plus my hair was really damaged from all the box dye I did to it lol which you can clearly see. Since I’ve been dying my hair with henna it’s more manageable and doesn’t feel or look damaged. I prefer the henna lol. But as I mentioned above I would to the research because it isn’t for everyone I read about it for awhile before I tried it <3 hope that helps!
