Finally came 12/01/17 (shortened birth story)
Little miss Aubrey must just not have wanted to be a November baby 🙄
Shortened birth story:
Contractions woke me up at 3:15AM on 12/1, 4 1/2 minutes apart, we timed them to make sure I wasn't wrong, and ended up coming to the hospital around 4:50am, was only dilated at a 2 still.
Once I finally got to a 4, at 9:30, I was able to get an epidural, they decided to start pitocin (spelling?) at 11:25 and increased it at 12:15 but ended up stopping it at 12:30 because it was affecting baby's heart rate and I got put on oxygen. (The rest of this is kind of scatter brained because this is where my happy story took a turn and I didn't keep notes 😭)
Once our O2 levels were back up and normal they restarted the pitocin at minimal drip. Well at some point my epidural failed and I was feeling everything on my right side, so a new epidural guy came in and replaced it then I felt great. Went from a 5 to an 8 between 5:10 and 5:20 that night and my water broke, nurses came bolting into the room because they were monitoring us from their station and noticed her heart rate changed (they were in here quicker than I could hit the nurse button to page them when I felt the water) well after being in labor from 3am to 5pm I was rushed to get an emergency csection because she was too high in my pelvis to push and our oxygen was lowering. Literally the most traumatizing experience I've ever had in my life.
Long story short (because I know I'm forgetting things)
Aubrey Mae Brown finally arrived at 5:50pm on December 1st, 2017. 7lbs 11oz and 20 inches long.
And she's worth every bit of fear I went through Friday, and every bit of pain I'm in now recovering from my csection. 😩💗
