Am I hurting my baby?

Am I hurting my baby by taking hot showers? I like VERY hot showers. So hot that it makes my skin red sometimes. I know you're not supposed to submerge your body into hot water but what about a shower?

The hot baths/saunas are a no-no because they tend to elevate your core body temperature a lot, especially when you're submerged for at least 10 minutes, which reduces blood flow for the baby, and can lead to very low blood pressure and fainting for you.
But a hot shower should be fine.

as long as the water isn't running directly on your bump... also be careful getting out as some women get dizzy and fall

I took super hot scorching showers my entire pregnancy. I wouldn’t recommend you letting the water run on your belly for a long period of time as it could raise your temp in your womb which could harm the baby. But if it’s hitting your back and you’re moving around I don’t think you would have an issue.

I read somewhere that you shouldn’t take shower or baths that will raise your core temperature. They had suggested the temperature should be at  body temperature at the warmest.
