Period after IUD?

Did anyone else have really long periods after their iud got inserted? (I’m talking about weeks-months). If not, is it something to talk to my doctor about?

The first time I got my IUD (Had to get it done twice) my period lasted a whole month , it was so irritating 😒. They say it can last up to 3-6 months before it starts to get "Normal" . I know some people that get their periods for months,some just spit and other just stopped having periods. Speak with your provider if you have any concerns!

3 to 6 monthd after insertion, you may notice spotting/light bleeding. 
Outside of that, my first period after IUD insertion lasted about 2 weeks. (1 week heavy flow, 1 week light flow).

I had the Implanon in my arm when I was 20. It was suppose to be good for 5 years. I bled/spotted every single day for nearly a year. I couldn’t handle it anymore so I had it removed after 11 months.

That has been happening to me. I've had mirena for about 2 months and I'm still spotting quite a bit after a month of bleeding lightly. I don't know if its a continuation of my month long period, or if I'm just spotting after it. I told my nurse practitioner and she said that if I'm still bleeding after another month, to let her know. So, I think you should be fine. Are you losing a lot or is it light?
