To IVF or go straight to Donor Eggs

B

So I am in a huge “life” pickle. My husband and I start IVF meds in about 3 weeks. I am freaking out with nerves about going through this process and not getting any eggs/eggs not fertilizing/eggs not making it to freezing cycle, etc.

So, my AMH (.2) and FSH (12-14? somewhere in there) levels are GARBAGE. They are thinking I have premature ovarian failure/insufficiency. I am only 24, so my Dr. said that the odds of getting at least 1 or 2 eggs from me are pretty likely. However, we do not have the money to do another retrieval after this. So say they get 4 eggs, and maybe one of them fertilizes. I would be thrilled! But say I go through this and none of them make it to be transferred. Then I would feel terrible about wasting our money and time on this.

So my “pickle” is with how terrible my levels are, should I just go straight to donor eggs? Has anyone gone through something similar to this around this young of an age?

I’m just feeling lost. I want to have at least 4 kids. I am okay with doing a few donor eggs even if we end up only getting 1 or 2 of my own eggs as well! Has anyone done the donor egg process and felt really good about your decision? Would I regret at least not trying to get my own eggs?

This is so hard, I truly pray for all you other women who are going through this infertility battle. It is so draining. But hopefully works out in the end for everyone!❤️
