Hypothyroidism and infertility

I'm on CD 40 tomorrow with no AF. Got a blood pregnancy test and thyroid check two days ago. Preggo test was negative...thyroid appears to be under functioning, which apparently explains the missed period. Thought I'd share my story as a warning to those with late periods but no BFP's. Doc said hypothyroidism can affect fertility so I'm starting synthetic thyroid hormones in the morning. Once my thyroid is regulated, TTC should be easier. Common symptoms of hypothyroidism track some early pregnancy symptoms: fatigue and missed period. Other hypothyroidism symptoms are weight gain, feeling cold when everyone else in the room is fine, low sex drive, depression, brittle/dry/falling out hair. I'd also love to connect with those who are already diagnosed with hypothyroidism and seeking treatment so I can know what to expect. Please comment away!
