Has your ear ever "swallowed" an earring back?

About 2 years ago the back of an earring got pushed into the skin of my earlobe and is still in there! I don't have the money for the minor surgery it would take to get it removed :/

This happened to me when I was about 13. The lobe grew over the back of the earring and my aunt had to pull it out with tweezers. I wore small hoops for a while after that and my hole healed fine but there is a decent amount of scar tissue I can feel in the back of my earlobe (nine years later). I don't really wear earrings very often now but when I do sometimes with heavier ones weird puss or something comes out of the hole.  I don't know if that's why or just because I hardly ever wear them.

Yup. I have a scar from where the hair got stuck around the backing and it ended up getting stuck so I ripped it out and had to have it sewed up lol

Yes, when I was 12 and first got my ears pierced. My dad had to push the earring back through my earlobe with a pair of pliers. Hurt like crazy, but didn't cause any permanent damage to my ear.

I found out I'm allergic to gold the hard way 😒 I have sensitive ears so I can't buy cheap jewelry. I went for solid gold this time and spent a lot of money, I have 3 holes in each ear. Well one day I noticed it was sore and thought it was just irritated. I felt it and it was huge! So I went to take it out thinking that would help but instead the earring came out but the back was stuck! Overnight somehow, my skin had closed over the back. I grabbed a sterile razor and just cut it and pushed it out. It didn't hurt nearly as bad as I thought and it was actually relieving and less painful immediately after. I don't recommend doing this yourself because it can be very dangerous. Your primary care doctor can give you a numbing shot and cut it out right in the office.

Yes when I was about 8 years old👀 my mum put a block of ice over my ear to numb it and then used a sewing needle to get it out, it was over pretty quickly and I don't have any scars or anything now, I can still put earrings in🙆
