Rough and bumpy skin?

So I have Keratosis Pilaris a.k.a Chicken Skin.

And I noticed that my 4 month old has little bumps on his chest and arms, could it be the same thing? If so what products would you recommend to help?

I’ve had this all my life. When I was young my parents spoke with my pediatrician about it and got some samples of different lotions to try. But it doesn’t bother me except cosmetically. I would ask your pediatrician for recommendations. But it doesn’t hurt, so any kind of lotion or whatever may do more harm than good if baby is allergic or something.

the only thing that.makes it better is lotion with ammonium lactate brand name amlactin. chicken skin is just when cells build up and the lotion has exfoliating capabilities which lessen it. its not a cure all has to be used almost daily. i would reccomend that lotion on a baby

That's what it looks like to me. If he gets more on his chest or belly,  then that's likely a rash due to virus or reaction. My husband and I both have them and all 3 of our kids do as well. You can try exfoliation with a pouf and Eucerin lotion, but it doesn't seem to bother any of my kids so I kinda just leave it alone.

It looks like a rash. See a pharmacist or a doctor.
