Thoughts on leaving child in car while in the gas station?

I’m just curious as to what other ladies think. They always talk about never leaving your kids in the car but what if you’re just running into the gas station to get gum or something? Do you sit and I strap them from their car seat just to put them back in 2 seconds later? Or do you just make sure to park where you can see while inside? I’ve always been very undecided about this
