IUD removed for ttc

Sara

I've had Mirena for the past ten years. It's been great as far as contraception goes. No baby or scares. but over the year my libido went ... blah. Sex hurted. Lubrication was inexistant. I put it on the "getting older" list but still being 27 years old and not liking sex anymore was de

pressing. I had come to avoid it and dread it. I thought the problem was in my head. A week ago, I had my iud removed for ttc ( yeah). My gynecologist said it was a possibility my symptoms were caused by the progesterone in mirena and the iud itself. Well in a week, I regained FULL sensibility in the area, the pain disappeared, lubrification returned and OMG was it niiiiiice ( toes curling nice) . If I had know it would get better, I would have had it removed way before. Moral of the story: Mirena may affect your libido.
