How long?

FTM here exclusively breastfeeding my 6week old. How many minutes do u mamas nurse ur babies for at a time? Do u offer only one breast for each feed and give the other breast for the next ? What's the normal time (minutes) a baby feeds for? (Question to the breastfeeding mamas out there as bottle feeding time is obviously different)

My little girl is nearly 8 weeks, since about 5 weeks she usually only lasts 10 minutes (15 max) on the first side. She is a guzzler though. Then she stops sucking and might fall asleep, quick burp and offer the other side which she might only be on for 5-10 minutes. 
So much better than the first few weeks where it was like 40 minutes each feed. 😂
I guess it all depends on baby though.

Each baby different. Some nurse more efficiently than others. 
Sometimes my baby nurses for 5-10 and is done. Other times it’s closer to 20. 
I personally only offer one breast and offer the opposite breast at the next feeding. 
Kellymom.com is a great resource I used at the direction from the lactation consultant i had with my first child. I still find it very helpful, but it covers pretty much everything breastfeeding related 😊

my little one is not a gulper. she takes her time eating. some times she feeds about 30 minutes, other times she feeds for an entire hour. i feed her from both sides each feeding. If not, my boobs hurt too much.  I start feeding from one side, when she slows down, i burp her, and switch sides. i keep doing that until shes fully done eating. By the time shes done both of my breast are pretty well drained.

My daughter would feed like 10 mins at the beginning up until a mont but now there’s times were the milk flow is slower she feeds about 30 mins on both. Other wise it’s about 15 mins on one side. She’s two months now

I have a very fast letdown so I only offer one boob per feeding. He eats for about 6-8 min. He’s a gulper haha.

At first I was doing one breast a feeding and she was going 10-15 mins eating in demand now I have an extremely heavy let down do I let her feed on both so ease the leaking then I feed her mainly on one each feeding. I swap.
