How old is too old?

Ive had a couple of guys in their late 30s take an interest in me at 19. Is that too old to hope for a potential relationship with someone? I know it’s personal preference but I’m curious.

Honestly it’s kind of to each their own thing. Some people truly believe age is just a number. Other people, like myself think it’s creepy when there’s a huge age difference. The fact that some guys are in their late 30s (i.e. close to 40) and your only 19 that’s too old for me.

Honestly its what you think. I just turned twenty and this guy that ive fallen head over heels for is twenty nine almost thirty but it doesnt bother me. I dont think of age whenever we hang out or go places i just see him as himself and i love every minute of it. Do what your heart says. If it makes you feel weird dont push yourself to enjoy it just be happy.

It is not personal preference. A guy in his thirties looking for a girl who barely turned 20 is a big red flag. These type of guys know that younger girls are more easily manipulated into doing what they want. There is a huge power difference at play. Always ask yourself “why can’t this guy find someone his own age?”.

there are so many things you need to consider besides age. things like, why is this grown ass man interested in a teenager? what is the difference in power dynamic? is he going to abuse the difference in power? what are the relationship expectations between the two of you? there are successful relationships with large age gaps. however you also have a duty to yourself to protect yourself and try to be smart about your relationships. age doesn't necessarily have to do with it, but there is still a lot of risk when dating a much older man. there are a lot of men who want younger women because they have more power and control over the relationship. or he could leave you when you start getting older bc he's attracted to young women.
