When is your first Ultrasound scheduled for?

I was having trouble deciding on the Dr / hospital and called to make my appointment today at 6w2d. They said the first Ultrasound is not until week 11, I am fine with that as I would like to be able see something when I do have it, but from everything I am reading on here it seems like people are getting them much earlier. Just wondering!

11-12 is normal as that's when they can see what they need and determine due date.

Most places don't want you to come until 8 to 10 weeks for first visit. 11 weeks is so long to wait! Can you go to a different doctor?
