I found out two days ago that my pregnancy stopped at about 6 weeks. I was given the option to let it pass naturally, take some pills to help speed up the process, or a D&C.; I chose the first option.

This is my first miscarriage so I have no idea what is going on. My husband is deployed at the moment and it’s just me and my 4 year old daughter at home. I have heard all the stories about how painful and bloody the whole thing is and it worries me like none other!

I started bleeding bright red blood for the past 3 days and the cramping got more and more painful, like really bad period cramps.

So, tonight, I was in the shower and I felt a slight “pop” and blood gushed everywhere! I heard a thud and looked down to see a solid black clot go down the bathtub drain! I thought, for sure, that was it! I started crying and rinsed the conditioner out of my hair. I immediately got out of the shower, dripping wet and grossly naked and sat on the toilet.

I sat there for a bit longer and rocked back and forth to ease the cramping a bit. Once I thought the cramping had calmed a bit enough to wipe, I reached down and pulled out this! I know it’s a bit much to look at, but I’m 95% sure this is it. My doctor said that when I passed it, it would have a grayish color to it and won’t look like a blood clot.

Can someone help me out here! If this isn’t it, it looks like part of an internal organ! If this is it, how long before the bleeding and cramping stop? Is this just the beginning or am I on the downhill slope?
