Why are my breasts suddenly sore on birth control?

I have been taking my birth control pills since May 2015 consistently. I have never had this symptom before. I am two weeks out from my next period and my breasts/nipples have been sore and sensitive to touch. Usually  this only occurs the week i start my period. 
Originally i was thinking is this just an ovulation symptom, but i know technically the pills are supposed to keep you from ovulating, So logically then, you would think i wouldn’t have symptoms. Could it be just a fluke thing? Or possible pregnancy? 
I just really am confused why this is the first time i’m feeling this and wondering what is causing it.

When I was on the pill, after a few years it pretty much just stopped working for me - I had a lot of breakthrough bleeding and had to switch pills 
Maybe it’s the same scenario and you could be ovulating? Or pregnancy? Or just a fluke. I would take a test though if you’re worried

I had mine inserted April 27 2023  nexplanon arm implant now as long as I can remember I never had the sore breast till recently first I got it was jan 22 of this year then it stopped and then again February 3rd and then it stopped now it’s really sore since February 10th-12th I never had this bad it almost feels like pregnancy sore breast sore breast feeling around my nipple i remember Monday the 10th the morning was so bad and then it went away and then when I took off. My bra it was hurting and still now sore nipple are around my boobs  I never had this ache even when it’s my period never had jt unless I had with my kids bit if girls but idk if I should test thinking to call my gyn

What kind of bc are you on? I've been on mine for 6 months and my breast have been sore for over a week. I had cramps a few days ago and really bad lower back pain for about 3 or 4 days. I had withdrawl bleeding for about a week 😞 now that that has stopped my breast are still sore. I find it weird bc after 2 months of starting this BC all this had gone away and now it's back.
