Made me laugh.

My boyfriend was born in Columbia, is 100% Colombian. However he was adopted by Irish/Italian parents. So he doesn’t speak a word of Spanish has adapted their culture as his own.

My aunt and uncle are extremely close minded and think they’re so fantastic and perfect.

I was raised by Irish/Italian parents myself and I am Irish/Italian. We had our Christmas gathering and that whole side of the family was rather cold to me but I don’t like them anyway. I got a text from my mom later that evening that they were embarrassed that I was dating someone outside my race, but my brother mentioned that he was adopted so they changed they’re mind and want to get to know him because it doesn’t count to them.

Now I never even considered this an interracial relationship because honestly it wasn’t a thought in my mind. I love this man and he treats me amazing and is family is wonderful.

It did start a conversation; would you still consider it interracial if raised by same race parents?

Sorry if this is inappropriate, and for the length.
