Which one?

Christian is a subtle (or not so subtle?) nod to my husbands name - Christopher. He has a “junior” who goes by CJ already but is estranged from him/his mother due to her being an abusive psycho. He feels like he really missed out on having his first son around.

Now I’m torn between using Christian as a first name. Is Christian different enough from Christopher to not cause any hard feelings if someday my husbands first son comes back into the picture? Or should I just delegate it to middle name. I’m so torn between loving it and feeling a bit resentful between the similarities.
