Coconut oil as nipple balm?

I'm not sure. this is my first go at breastfeeding. I currently don't have the extra funds to go buy nipple balm. I will soon but I'm having baby this coming weekend. is coconut oil safe for the dry and cracking and pain to come ? if not what else could I use?

No- you want it to be unrefined, virgin, organic coconut oil but if in a pinch financially- that should work.

That's what I used and it worked great. In fact, I used coconut oil for a diaper cream and for baby's eczema too.

That's all I used and it worked great for me. In fact later I ended up buying some organic hippy mama expensive nipple butter and it actually made my nipples feel all stingy. So coconut oil for the win. Just make sure it's the organic, virgin kind.

Coconut oil, yes. But you want unrefined cold pressed virgin coconut oil. It has more beneficial and healing properties.

I used coconut oil and it was great. If you're having baby at hospital they sometimes give samples of nipple cream. Ask and then take as many as you can
