Breast milk and/or formula?

My baby is 4 weeks today, and until yesterday I was exclusively breastfeeding. My baby cryed a lot and sleep less that 1 hour. I decided to breastfeed during the day and give similac advance formula at night, I tried to give her 2oz, but she drinks just 1oz.  How are you girls doing it? Thanks

I put baby on the breast and follow up with a 2 ounce bottle. She doesn't always finish the two ounces. She mostly does one ounce. I just let her have how much she wants.

I was doing the same but my lactation consultant challenged me two weeks ago to pump and keep "security" bottles of breast milk you ppl enemy or replace a feeding if I'm too tired at night. That's what we have been doing, we keep 2-3oz ready if we need it at night. My son is 6 weeks old and if he has a good feeding at around 12 or 11 he won't wake up until 5 am. We usually only give him more during the day if he asks for it, otherwise only at night to make him sleep better.

My baby is now 7 weeks old (born March 27th) he spent 10 days in the NICU because he was early. I had to pump and give him bottles in the beginning. When we finally got home, I would breastfeed (with a nipple shield so my breast felt like the bottle to him) and follow up with a bottle. He took less and less of the bottle until he was exclusively breastfeeding. It was very very hard breastfeeding in the beginning, and there were many days I felt like giving up. I'm so glad I didn't. After the 6 week growth spurt (which was hell) it's like something magical happens and they start realizing they have too many things to look at to nurse all the time. My baby now eats 8 or 9 times a 24 hour day. He he only wakes up once at night, and it's such a pleasure to breastfeed now. I feel lucky to be able to grab a few diapers and a onesie and stick it in my pocket book and go. So, it does get easier.

I exclusively pump so I only bottle feed. The only time I supplement with formula is when I don't have enough milk supply or when we're out and about. We use the Enfamil Gentlease formula.

Pretty much the same as you're doing. During the day it's just breast milk. The formula helps fill her up before bed so she sleeps longer.
