Help with Cat

Britta

My family and I need advice on what to do with our cat. We have two. The one we need help with just turned 3. He is a flame point Siamese and super sweet. His name is Henry. He has a super slight heart murmur and an addiction to eating plastic bag material. The plastic bag eating is already an issue but we just keep all plastic-y stuff out of any room he may enter.

Our problem with him is that he won’t stop peeing around our house. We lived in a one bedroom apartment when we adopted him (at 2 months of age) and he never peed out of the box until he was like a year and a half old then did so under my husbands computer chair. Now we have moved into a big house this past August (that we are renting) and he keeps peeing around the house. Under the computer chair, in my art studio, in our classroom, my closet, (all of which are carpeted) now he keeps doing it on the top of some wood cabinets at the top of our stairs.

We have two litter boxes, one upstairs and one downstairs. The litterboxes are clean. We clean the pee areas up with cat urine remover spray (we’ve tried a few after he does it again in the same spot) and now I’m looking at renting a steam cleaner and doing this whole stinkin 2400sq ft house today. That doesn’t solve him peeing on wood cabinets, though.

My husband is done. Wants to rehome the cat TODAY. I want to give it our best shot before he takes over..plus no one wants to adopt a 3 year old cat that’s not litter trained, has a heart murmur, and eats plastic, jumps on the kitchen counters. Please help me!!
