Is it normal to miss periods?

So every few months or so I don’t get my period, sometimes for a couple months too. Some people say it could mean I’m infertile, could that be true or is it normal?

Talk to a GYN
It’s not normal however it does happen much like the first comment stated. 
It’s called amenorrhea but there are different types. Depending on the cause will determine the treatment. 
I saw a GYN that told me that if I weren’t having my cycles every month it wasn’t a threat to my health (due to my weight) so I didn’t have to fix it until I wanted to have kids which is when it’d become problematic.

It’s not normal but not uncommon the best thing to do is to see a doctor, they will probably do some blood tests
