My 8 year old overhead hubby and I talking about the new baby (I’m only 4 weeks) and at dinner she said “mommy, how are babies made? Do you choose to have a baby or do they just appear? Where do they come from?”

So, I wasn’t expecting this quite yet and I’m okay with talking to her about it but I wanted some thoughts on what all I can and should tell her? Should I take this as a time to also talk to her about puberty and her period? Or will that be too much? We’ve already had some small discussions but this is the first time that it was initiated by her.
