Getting off Skyla

I just want to know what everyone thinks. I have had my Skyla IUD for almost a year now. I used to have very clear skin and since I got it, the acne has been unmanageable. I have tried gentle cleansers, acne cleansers, face masks, spot treatment, acne and regular moisturizer, not wearing make up, etc etc. Some of it is also very painful and I have also had cramping, even when I am not on or around my period and it makes my cycles irregular. My boyfriend of 4 years will be gone for almost a year with basic training and tech school and what not, so I was considering just stopping any form of birth control since I won't be having sex anyway. I guess I have already made up my mind, I just want you guy's experiences and opinions.
