My husbands sister got pregnant when she was going through a very hard time. She asked us to adopt the baby. She was ready for us to get the baby in for 6 months, until she changed her mind when she found out it was a girl. My hopes were so high, as were my husbands, but I was crushed. I still get her whenever I want, but it’s not the same and breaks my heart. I love being her aunt, her only aunt, but I would have loved to be this special baby girls mommy.
