Menstrual Cup?

Question

I’m a die hard tampon user. The fancy organic cotton kind. However I’ve been ever so curious about menstrual cups and their benefits? Does anyone use those regularly? What is your preferred brand? Looking for more insight before I buy one. 
My assumed pro/con list:
Pro:
Eco-friendly
Less changes than a tampon
Cost efficient 
Con:
More “hands on”
Needs to be washed after each use. 
More suited for heavy periods (mine is mostly light/regular)

I use softcups which are disposable, but still worn up to 12 hours. I LOVE them.hate tampons now !! I would like to try other options in menstrual cups but the reusable ones are quite expensive, however after a few months pay for themselves.  I know there are several options and I plan on trying them to see which i have preference to. but I will never be happy again with tampons

My favorite brand is fleurcup. I think that's how you spell it. But I also use a lunette if my periods really heavy. I don't remember what you asked so I'm just going to throw some stuff about what I like and don't like about them.
Pros 
• 1) my period anxiety has gone down! I don't have to freak out and look at my crotch to see if I'm leaking
•2) they last like up to 10 years
•3 a lot of users report that after switching to cups, their flow is lighter and periods are shorter. Idk about that.
•4) no tss risk!!! I don't give a shit about that random article you read online saying that someone did. There's just no way that you can get tss from a cup.....also you can get tss from more than just tampons. Men can get it too. It's a type of infection I believe. But it's a lot more likely with tampons.
•5) no more buying tampons!!! No more money down the drain.
I have most of my unused tampons and pads to a friend of mine when I was in high school. I gave most to her but still left a bit for me just in case. But she was wanting to try tampons so I gave her some. Win win.
6) you can typically wear them up to 12 hours a day. I typically only need to change it when I wake up and before I go to bed.
7) you can't feel it, if it's the right fit at least 
8) inexpensive in the long run
9) tends to help you forget your on your period 
10) swimming!!! You can go swimming with a tampon but that soaks up all the chlorine too. Cups won't.
11) they can hold a lot!!! Many people think they bleed like 3cups of blood each period. (If you actually do this stop what your doing and go to the doctor now!!) but when they switch to cups they find that it's actually not as much as they thought. There are big cups for bigger flows and small cups for smaller flows. Here's a picture of an example.

So the cons
1) expensive up front
2) has a learning curve 
3) it can be hard to find which is best for you.
There is a site called "putacupinit.com" it's great. I got the pics from there. They have a quiz to help you find what cup is best for you. 
There are also video channels that talk about cups and how to deal with them for beginners. But please PLEASE!!! DO NOT JUST RUN TO THE STORE AND BUY A DIVA CUP!! The diva cup is great! But it's quite long and can be quite uncomfortable for many people. I was one of those people who experienced that. They also have a Facebook page. They are VERY HELPFUL! I've never really seen any judgement. It's a private group. If there ever was an issue they'd shut it down quick!

i have a light/regular period and i use a cup (meluna, has a lot of options to choose from, has been recommended a lot for beginners regarding ease of use). if my period is very light, I just use it or sometimes i will switch back to pads/liners (in your case itd be tampons). you still have to wear liners or you can wear those period underwear that absorbs your period blood. i wash it before work and when i shower at night. if i feel like it needs a rinse, its fairly easy to do so. i keep wet wipes at work and at home. im not super experienced so it takes a bit of time for me to angle it right because i have an angled cervix. i think it is worth the trouble most times, though i do take breaks if im not having a good week with it. sometimes it's harder to get in than other days too. despite the cons, i think that its worth a shot. you should give it a chance or two.

I use softcups, normally I get them from CVS. Girrrrrl, I am in love. I get 12  hours of not having to worry about changing anything out. I can swim, sleep, and I've known some people who have had sex with them in (I'm not that brave yet). But its amazing. I'll never go back to tampons.

I think they’re also healthier! But you use organic tampons. But I don’t have to worry about leaving it in too long, or leaking at night. 
It saves a lot of money too! I think mine was a Luna cup. It’s actually nice for light days, cause it is so uncomfortable to pull out a tampon on a light day. I don’t miss that lol
