12 month cup suggestions, for milk!?

My 11 month old has a straw and soft spout sippy... but he spits water out everywhere and I can’t figure out if he’s just playing or it comes out to fast! 
I would like him to start having milk out a cup at 12 months or so...but I can’t see him sitting there drinking a whole feeding as he just plays with his cups, anyone else have this issue?
He’s always been a snacker, comfort nurses and nurses on demand.... I haven’t minded but WOULD like him to be on more of a schedule and I know it sounds silly but I’m not even sure how to go about it.. he’s always preferred me over a bottle.. I’m ready to be done in a month or so though.. but I don’t even KNOW how to stop and worry he wouldn’t drink much milk from a cup....any advice?

My almost 10 month old uses the 360 cup with the handles.  He can do it on his own and if he's truly thirsty not much comes back out of his mouth.  Not sure if that helps at all.  :-)
