Hello everyone,

I had my 18 week anatomy scan yesterday and everything looked great and normal. Except the specialist said that my baby has slightly elevated fluid in his brain. (I am seeing a specialist since I had my 1st son early) My babies head is measuring 1 week ahead. I believe I recall him saying the fluid was towards the back of the skull. He told me since I’m 28 years old that he isn’t worried at all and that 99.999998% of cases this clears up on its own in 4 weeks or so. He also said if I was 40 years or over this could be a sign of Trisomy 18. I have another ultrasound scheduled for a month from now for them to recheck this and my cervix, but I am kinda of freaking out! I should not have looked up this problem on the internet. He didn’t go into grave detail about this said fluid because he was so confident that it would clear up on its own, I should have maybe asked more questions.

Has anyone had this and what was your experience? Thanks in advance :)
