help! period irregularities

Today is day 10 of my period and a few days ago i was sure it ended. (blood was darker and less flow) however it got heavier two days ago and i almost feel like im having a period on top of another period?? im not having any cramping, and also im in the middle of my birth control pills so i should even have it yet. Any ideas on whats going on?? I never have a period more than 7 days..
