First IUI cancelled very confused

So today we went in for 1st iui I resumed Clomid at my same dose as last time 150mg d5-9 went in did the ultrasound...lots of visible follicles. Start getting excited (we are unexplained infertility so I normally ovulate), get all cleaned up talk to doc and get told we're not optimal for iui today, but I have a 30mm follicle on my left ovary, then he says but your uterine lining is a little too thick and I think your ovaries worked too well this month plan is the old fashioned way this month and do an earlier us next month to make sure that was a 30mm follicle not a cyst

They also confused me wanting to get the earlier us because he didn't think I had already ovulated and I didn't ask was upset and just wanted out of the office...

They didn't tell me how thick my lining was just a little too thick but I had a normal af prior to this

Any advice on where to go from here and if I should be concerned?

They didn't give me a lot to go on just not this month and call when you get your next period or a positive test
