My mother could always feel herself ovulate and could pinpoint which side. If you’re doubling over in pain, that’s not normal, but some cramping is normal.

It is normal to have some pain during ovulation, there’s even a term for it… It’s called mittelschmerz. But if you are in serious pain, I would definitely recommend to get checked at least to make sure that it’s nothing more serious.

I would say it is fairly normal to have some physical notice of ovulating however, if it is extreme or a pain that is at the forefront of all other sensations then I would suggest having a doctors visit to make sure you do not have a cyst or other condition that could be causing your discomfort. Do you spot during ovulation? Is the pain extreme? Does the pain last longer than a week? Is sex uncomfortable during ovulation?
