Should bed time be enforced on the weekends for kids ages 8 and above?

enforce  a bedtime for the older kids on the weekends or let them stay up and enjoy their time off of school?

My mom always let me stay up on weekends and I always fell asleep early anyway haha

People sleep better and generally feel more rested when they have a specific bedtime that they stick to each night. I know some kids who would stay up until 1 or 2 am if they are allowed to. Could mess up their sleep cycles and cause issues during the week day.

mine too but hubby wants to enforce a 10 pm bedtime for my 8 year old on the weekends.. I think he should be able to enjoy 2 days a week staying up.

I don't enforce bed time on weekends, school holidays and during summer break for my 9 year old daughter.

During the week my son starts laying down at 8-8:30 & usually falls asleep by 9 (he has sleep problems) on the weekends he goes to bed at 10:30.. He's almost 12

I’m 15, my mom doesn’t care on weekends and on weekdays I don’t really care about curfews honestly I usually run on 6 hours of sleep. 
My dad takes my phone at 11pm ( when I have it there ) but I have a secret phone and I’ve stayed up until 4am there.

When I was 8, my mom let me stay up on the weekends, but when Sunday night came around, I had to be in bed by 10. When I stayed up, I used to watch Jay Leno, Conan O’Brien, David Letterman (I had regular tv) , eat snacks and popped in a video tape and watch a Disney movie until I fell asleep.

I’d try to keep it no later than 11-12. The later they stay up, the longer they sleep 😁

Under 12 I would give a few hours extra. Bedtimes aren’t really a thing anymore unless you want to take away electronics. Even if they’re in bed, they can still be awake
