serious complications in pregnancy after 35yrs?

Question

Whenever i go for regular check up, i am asked if i am younger or older than 35 years of age and there is wealth of information on internet, both scientifically and not - stating that pregnancies after 35 are mostly complicated.I want to know how many of you actually faced any major problem?

I became a FTM at 35. I had no issues, no gestational diabetes, no preeclampsia and my baby developed normal. He was born 7 lb 5oz at 37 weeks.  I had morning sickness the entire pregnancy, I developed super human smelling powers, and I had sciatica. At 10 weeks I did the blood test to make sure my son didn’t have any severe conditions.
 I am going to be 37 on the 21st, and we are trying for #2. I did have more ultrasounds than most women because I had gastric bypass 12 years ago and the Dr. wanted to make sure that my baby was growing and meeting expectations. 
My son will be 2 on the 23rd, and he is normal. Cute as a button, too smart for his own good, and keeps surprising us everyday.

I am 38 and so far no issues - I never even had pregnancy symptoms (nausea, constipation, sore boobs etc).  29.5 weeks so far though but I’m in the home stretch.

I'm 36 and pregnant with my first (9 weeks today) I have 3 sizeable fibroids that my doctor said may be a concern later in my pregnancy so I get an US every visit, so far my biggest issue is morning sickness, heartburn and extreme fatigue... I go back in 3 weeks for genetic testing and I was told I can find out the sex as well.

I’m 35 and pregnant with my second. Other than being tired, I’m doing great. I’m 8 weeks right now. My doctor didn’t bring up my age but I did. He said I don’t have anything to worry about and that plenty of women are having babies at my age or later with no complications.

I’m 40 and 18 weeks pregnant with my third child and so far no issues here.  Baby growing normally, genetic testing came back all low risk, getting lots of kicks now and feel great. The first 12 weeks I felt a lot more fatigued than my others who I had when I was 30 and 32 but I’m also working full time which I wasn’t with them. Other than that all my symptoms are the same as my first pregnancies so far. I’m fit and healthy with a normal BMI.

They ask you that ? Wow mine actually doesn’t ask anything about my age at all. I’m 17 wks right now and nothing major going on. I got a random allergy to the adhesive to bandaids that’s it here

I’m 35 and in my second trimester. I feel freaking amazing. So far development is perfectly in schedule, all genetic tests have come back normal, and I’ve basically had no symptoms. Being pregnant at 35 (my first) has been a breeze. I think it seems incredibly unfair that they would say most pregnancies over 35 are complicated. It seems that the overwhelming majority of mom over 35 have had really normal healthy pregnancies.

I’m 39 and Just had my second baby. Completely normal pregnancy with no complications other than feeling uncomfortable and crazy morning sickness and acid reflex.
I also had the harmony performed at 10 weeks. I recently had my 6 week check up doctor thinks I can have another one. Age is a factor but it’s also how well your feel and take care of your self. Goodluck!

I had a perfectly healthy baby at 36-37 that wasn’t at all a complicated pregnancy. In fact, Norway (where I live) doesn’t even consider you advanced maternal age until age 38. I’m now 38 and pregnant again so I’m having extra genetic testing but otherwise being treated like any other regular old pregnant lady. 
Fertility and pregnancy complications aren’t like some cliff edge everyone falls off at exactly 35. Some people always have problems, some people just don’t. My cousin and SIL both had beautifully smooth pregnancies and lovely babies at age 45

IGNORE NUMBERS AND STATISTICS. They mostly make people crazy. There are exceptions to every rule. And there are sooooooooo many women that have babies after 35. What they're saying is true - it's harder but not impossible. I'm 40 and pregnant after 2 maybe 3 miscarriages!! Plus I had bleeding for 2 months - completely rare but normal. Just have hope and concentrate on possibility! Good luck :)
