Stopping Metformin?

I have PCOS and I’ve been taken Metformin since April 2017. Since then I have had regular periods. I recently got switched to a new Dr who told me to stop taking it... he said Metformin was no longer recommended to treat PCOS. Does anyone have experience with this?

No. It’s supposed to be the only drug out there to actually help wth PCOS symptoms.. it won’t necessarily help you get pregnant, but will help with symptoms like cysts and cramping and such. Never heard that before

I’m going to read up on this, my doctor just started me on 1000mg x2 daily back in October 2017. I have PCOS Thin 
I’m also on Clomid 100mg 3-7day. Ugh. Why is TTC so difficult....
