Baby Registry?

Question

How many momma's made a registry and actually had people make the effort to get your gifts from it? I won't be having a shower until late Jan/early Feb, but have two registeries made up, and it seems like most people are just doing their own thing so far with buying me things. I mean, I'm grateful, regardless, for anything I get. Just curious if this was an issue for others.

People usually buy from my registry. It happens more towards the shower. A lot of people wait till the last minute. I’m usually the first to buy from a registry because I like to get the best thing in my budget before someone else gets it.

I’m guessing it’s a location type thing. I see a lot of people posting on here about people not using their registry.... but where I’m from, people hardly ever go off registry.  At my shower the only things I received that I didn’t register for was the outfits, and a few blankets.  I’ve never been to a shower were the majority of items weren’t registered for.

I only had a shower at work, and almost everything was from the registry.

I got most of the stuff from the registry. Of course, people will always go off registry as well. We only registered at Target so I'm surprised so many items were purchased (we live in a rural area 35 miles from the nearest one).

Most of the stuff was bought off my registry, but I did notice that a good chunk of it was purchased in the week or two leading up to my shower.

I had 2 people buy off our registry lol. but got lots of gift cards which was cool. mostly clothes. but we didn't reveal gender until the shower so they weren't all pink or blue. it all worked out in the end! we also did a diaper raffle. which was awesome. got a good start on our diaper stash.
