Rice Cereal?

Question

Is any body else giving their LO a mix of breast milk and rice cereal at night to help them sleep longer??? I don't really want to because I work and look forward to going home and not having to pump. Plus I just enjoy breastfeeding. But my almost 4mo went from getting up maybe once or twice a night or sleeping through every now and then, to three or four times at least these past few days. Any advice?

It’s most likely sleep regression. Giving cereal isn’t going to fix it,

New studies have shown that this doesn’t help with sleep at all and is actually not good for babies unless they have sever reflux that medication isn’t fixing. Even then, it’s no longer recommended.

Thank you everyone for the responses! Sleep regression crossed my mind but wasn't sure because idk much about it. And rice cereal in milk was suggested to me so I thought I'd get some advice from other mommas. I appreciate it! Let's hope it doesn't last long 😅🤞🏻

I agree with the sleep regression, which is just a phase and will pass. As for feeding rice cereal and breastmilk, I do do that but my daughter is 6 months old and she has started solids.  (and trust me she sleeps no differently with cereal in her belly, she still has restless nights).  But if you do want to
go this route or try its easy.  I pump in the morning, so after her feeding I pump for a few minutes just long enough to get about 2 to 3 oz.  Which then I stick in the fridge or freezer until I need it.  At night for her dinner I add the milk to the cereal.  And I warm mine once made.  2 to 3 oz can make 2 or 3 feedings.  Just remember breastmilk has an expiration date of 4 days in the fridge. Hope this helps and good luck.
