Announcing pregnancy to family

When you announced your pregnancy to your immediate family, how did you go about doing it? Did you buy gifts or did you just tell everyone?

We’re telling our families on Christmas so we were thinking of having a gift for them to open. I came across these books called “How to Babysit a Grandma” and “How to Babysit a Grandpa” and we’re going to write a note in each of them from the baby to give to our parents. If you did gifts, did you have a gift for everyone to open?? Grandparents, siblings, brother/sister in laws, etc?? That’s our current dilemma right now is whether or not we just do the gifts for the parents or do we buy something for everyone.
