How quickly do they find a heartbeat?

When you’re at your first appt is it shortly after they start the ultrasound that they find it or does it take some time? Idk what to expect.

7 weeks for me. At five it was too small

It depends. I only had an abdominal Doppler used since I refused anything vaginal. It took a little while to find (I was 11 weeks) because baby is so teeny tiny. If you’re passed 8 weeks, I think, they should be able to find a heartbeat, but it may take a little bit of time.

Sometimes they stick the thing in and have to move around a bit and try to find it, because usually it is the sight of the heartbeat they are looking for
