What do you moms think about used stuff?

I’m pregnant with my second and kind of looking into buying a used double stroller to save $ but then it kind of grosses me out. Still I think of if I were to sell my things, I’m a very clean person so giving or selling MY used baby things isn’t so weird to me. I spent a lot the first time around and would like to save this time. What do you moms think or are you buying used things?

I would buy it and clean it well.  I have bought my son lots of things on facebook market or nextdoor from neighbors. Some lady was selling her child’s slide for toddlers with a deck. It goes for $80+ I got it for $10. Same thing with walker. I plan on getting a used double stroller if we get pregnant anytime soon or one where the child can sit/ stand and the baby can go in it’s carrier. I have gotten toys as well. Babies get bored and their toys add up! As long as it’s something you can clean well I don’t see why not. I don’t recommend carseat, cribs, or cloth diapers. Or anything that may have a safety issues.

Buying used is less expensive and I think you get better deals. You can always clean everything you get

I buy a lot of stuff second hand. I always clean everything before I use it though, even if the stores do. I trust my cleaning more. We bought our daughters stroller, co-sleeper, some toys, and some clothes. The stroller and co sleeper came all the way apart so I was able to clean it really well. It's so much cheaper, and as long as it's one of the reputable used stores, they are in just as good of shape as if they were bought new. Don't know if you have one near where you live, but Once Upon A Child is a very good store to shop at for gently used items.

Buy second hand whatever doesn’t gross you out and the things that do - still look but make sure it’s in excellent condition and can be cleaned :)

I buy second hand for tons of things. Except mattresses, carseats and other items where safety is a concern.
Simply washing and ensuring there isnt any broken pieces is good 🤷🏻‍♀️

As long as you have a new car seat and a new mattress for their cot/crib I think you'll be fine 😊

It scares me to buy used things unless I know who it's coming from. We got our swing and high chair used from my husband's cousin, but that's it. I need to know where it's been if it's something my child is going to be using and especially a baby, putting in their mouth. You can only clean things so well. A stroller would probably be fine though. There's not really anything they can chew on usually. Some things not so much. My step daughter went with her grandma on her mom's side to a garage sale and got a USED TEETHER for our son. I felt bad because she was so excited to have gotten him something, but that thing went directly in the trash. Ick.

I buy a lot secondhand. We live in a very small town so you know who to buy off and who not to 🤷🏻‍♀️
