Does it bother you when people refer to grown women as “girls”?
Referring to a grown woman or a group of women as “girl” or “girls” is so frustrating to me.
“What can I get you girls today?” “Welcome, girls!” “How are you girls this evening?”
Ladies, women, people, friends- there are so many other words you could use to describe a group of women and people often choose the one that demeans us to a group of pre-pubescent, helpless girls.
We don’t refer to men as boys ever, why do we refer to women as girls?
